What is Reverse Osmosis?

Most experts agree that Reverse Osmosis or ‘RO’ systems excel at removing water impurities. Short of distillation, no other water purification system has proven as effective at removing nearly everything but water from a water supply.
The challenge is that RO systems are bulky, waste water, and often require frequent filter/membrane changes. They also remove minerals that are vital to a healthy lifestyle. It can take up to 3 gallons of waste-water to produce one gallon of Reverse Osmosis water, and as much as 99% of the calcium and magnesium is removed during the purification process. The impact of reliance on reverse osmosis water is significant enough that the World Health Organization concluded that Reverse Osmosis water "has a definite adverse influence on the animal and human organism."
